CLEVELAND, OH - Splitting hundreds of gigs a year for around two decades between Put-In-Bay and Cleveland, guitarist Bob Gatewood and his band, Calabash, have made summer a cottage industry as they hit this circuit.  I recently got to trade thoughts with Gatewood over the the band's third CD BE GOOD TO YOURSELF.

Reconnects the East and West Banks of the Flats

CLEVELAND, OH  – Effective Monday August 1, 2011, at 7:00 A.M., the Center Street Swing Bridge will be open to all traffic, reconnecting the east and west banks of the Flats and easing traffic concerns.

Transmissions for eAssist fuel-saving technology among funded projects

DETROIT, MI – General Motors Powertrain plants in Ohio and Indiana that make transmissions for Buick and Chevrolet models with eAssist fuel-saving technology will get the bulk of a $129 million investment GM announced Tuesday.

The money is part of $2 billion being invested in 17 facilities in eight states over the next 18 months and will create or retain 4,000 jobs.

CLEVELAND, OH – Starting at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 until 5 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011 the East 9th Street Bridge will close to through traffic between Lakeside Avenue and the Shoreway (State Route 2) access ramp. The bridge repairs include expansion joint replacement and concrete waterproofing.

Signs will be posted for detour routes using Erieside Avenue, West 3rd Street, and Lakeside Avenue. Access to all parking garages along East 9th Street will be maintained. Additional traffic advisories will be issued if weather is unfavorable.

COLUMBUS, OH - The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled against a lesbian in her desire to co-parent the child she helped raise from birth. Biological mother Kelly Mullen and “social mom” Michele Hobbs agreed to raise a child together, sought out a sperm donor, and shared the parenting from the birth of their now 5-year-old daughter until their breakup.

Jackson is pleased to announce that the City of Cleveland has been awarded a SAFER Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for approximately $3.5 million.
