In 1997, Daria Werbowy began her modeling career by signing with Toronto modeling agency Susan J. Model & Talent Management. A year later she signed with Elmer Olson Models. By 2003, Daria had become the face of Prada, appeared in editorials for French Vogue, V, and W, appeared on three covers for Italian Vogue, and opened for numerous shows at Paris and Milan Fashion Week.
In 2004, Daria renewed her Prada contract and then replaced Hana Soukupova for Gucci. She then came into the spotlight when she began dating actor Josh Hartnett. She continued to appear on numerous magazine covers and was also featured as one of the world's top models by Vogue. Then, in December, she was featured in W as "Fashion's Newest It Girl."
In 2005, Werbowy became the face of Chanel and Missoni, then signed contracts with David Yurman and Lancome. By February, Daria set a new record for opening and closing a total of 12 shows. She also was featured on the cover of Numero.
Come 2006, Daria was opening and closing more shows than ever, including Alexander McQueen and Oscar de la Renta. In February, she appeared topless for GQ magazine. The same year, she renewed her contracts with Chanel and David Yurman.
By 2007 (ten years after her start in the business,) Daria returned as the face of Missoni, signed contract for Lancome's Hypnose, appeared on the covers of British Vogue, Numero and German Vanity Fair, and to top it all off, became the face of Valentino and Hermes. In July, she was named Forbes' 9th-highest-paid model in the world for 2007.
In 2008, Werbowy appeared topless on the cover of French Photo. She also helped release a three-piece makeup collection for Lancome in April. She then replaced three models (Jessica Stam, Kasia Struss, and Coco Rocha) as the sole face of Christian Dior.
Daria began 2009 by appearing on the cover of Japanese Vogue and returning as the face of Roberto Cavalli.
She also continued her reign as one of the top-paid-models on Forbes' list, making an estimated $4.5 million.
In the beginning of 2010, Daria Werbowy appeared on the cover of LOVE, French and Japanese Vogue, and Dossier.
She then returned as the face of Yves Saint Laurent.
And by 2011, Daria Werbowy is still going strong, becoming the face Balmain, Celine, and Salvatore Ferragamo, and appearing in dozens of fashion spreads.
As one of the most successful models with one of the most extensive careers, Daria Werbowy is one of the superheros of the modeling industry. And as of yet, her kryptonite is nowhere to be found.
