Apollo and NASA Shaped the World We Know
Apollo Missions Created The
World
Fourty years ago the US carried humanity to other worlds. That one small step was seen and cheered
by television audiences in every nation on earth.
Today there is no activity, no enterprise that hasn't
benefitted from the knowledge gained from space science. Everyrhing from the foods in your pantry and the nonstick pan
you cook it in to the integrated circuit technology in your phone and computer started with the race to put men in space.
NASA today has changed it's focus to smaller, less daring mission plans and that's a sad fact.
Think of the wonderful new knowledge and technology that would happen if only our space program became a nationl priority
once again. That sort of technology is the only way that America can regain her role as leader in world affairs and
in the world economy. Let's hope that the government will give the R&D and space technology programs the boost we
need to keep America growing
Freedom Wins the Day Again
Once again a small
nation has defied the odds and her skeptics by having peaceful, Democratic elections. Many feared political and religious
differences would doom Indonesia's national elections to failure.
This week the Indonesian people flooded the
polls to prove that democracy once again won out as their fourth president since the dictator Suharo was overthrown was chosen
by the people in elections remarkably free of violence and trouble. Their victory is a lesson to all the pundits and
political commentators that Islam and political freedom aren't incompatible.
It is hoped that Indonesia's
victory will be a shining example to other Islamic peoples who yearn for freedom to choose their own destiny without dictators
or clerics holding their nation hostage.

Did Politics Kill Spring Hill General Motors Plant?
The contest is
over and G.M.'s new small car line will be manufactured in the Orion Township plant in Michigan. This news is devastating
to residents of Spring Hill, TN who now face the loss of 2500 jobs and the resultant losses to other local business.
Older workers at the plant will be offered a retirement buy-out while the rest are simply- out.
Some employees
feel that the decision to use the Michigan plant was more political than financial.
The
question that comes to mind is how much of the current administration's love affair with big labor influenced the decision.
Especially as the federal government in essence now owns General Motors.
Forensic Report Suggests Criminal Negligence in TVA Ash Spill
TVA spent
$3 million dollars for the forensic report into the cause of the ash spill at TVAs Kingston, TN coal fired power plant.
While not directly accusing the company of anything the report provides prima facie evidence indicating negligence and
mismanagement of the plants 89 acre retention pond.
The ash spill desolated hundreds of acres of land, demolished
homes and is costing utility users billions of dollars in higher utility payments to pay for the clean up work.
To compound the problem evidence suggests that TVA officials knew about the problem in advance and failed to address
it.
In this time of record high unemployment and economic failure only one question begs
asking.
How much more is TVA's criminal negligence going
to cost the residents of the Tennessee Valley ?
